Scholarships & Student Development

Oscar Montemayor Educational Opportunities Scholarship

Friend, mentor, colleague and comrade in the struggle for justice, Oscar Humberto Montemayor, passed away last October. For three decades, Montemayor served the Oregon State University community, from his work with the College Assistance Migrant Program to serving as the associate director for academic success with Diversity & Cultural Engagement. He was loved, respected and cherished by all who met him. This scholarship will continue his work in providing educational opportunities and enhancing the student experience.

Rec Sports Professional Skills Development

Recreational Sports facilities and programs are primarily student-run: More than 400 students are recruited to serve the campus community. The Dixon Rec professional environment helps to grow conscious work habits, civic awareness, and transferable skills that are highly valued by employers of college graduates, and additional professional training would not only enhance student awareness of the true value of these skills, but build competence and confidence toward future application.
